I struck upon an idée ...

Added on by Leon Jacobs.

In 1955, when most cars looked like washing machines, a vehicular design fell to earth in the shape of the Citroën ID/DS. It stunned the world with its futuristic and avant garde lines. It instantly represented that dream that one day cars would be able to fly.

I have been lucky enough to own two DS's before. But now I have acquired a '65 ID19. She is in need of some restoration and this blog will document that process. The name ID is a contamination of 'idée" - French for 'idea'.

Say bonjour to Le Grand-mere ... the '65 ID that will become my daily companion.
